Living Room at Thistlewoods Farm

The vase on the left are berries picked right from Linda's trees on the property and dried.  The gold apple is an apple gourd grown in Linda's gardens and painted gold.

The long table once used as a coffee table is one that was given to her by our brother, Kenny.  This was used in a movie that was filmed in New Orleans.  This is our mother patiently watching our work.

Here is a look at the before of this area.  (below)

This is a look at the (before) entry area and the (after) results. (below)

Below is a photo of the before and after shot of the mantel.

This is the area left of the fireplace, before and after.  (below)

Here we had Linda make an arrangement from her home grown cotton.  This shot was before we added some new throw pillows. (below)

I really wanted to add this gorgeous live fern for the entry to give a natural definition to the entry area from the adjoining kitchen area.  We went to one of many of the plant farms in the area and found this one.  Perfect.

This goes into the kitchen area.  Colors are a dark gray for this feature wall and under the kitchen bar, white walls in kitchen and a medium gray in the living room and kitchen cabinets.  A very fresh look.

Linda Crowder is my sister.  She and her husband lives in Glenmora, Louisiana on acres of land.  They own 2 shops where they create items from their farm and old wood.  See their facebook page here. View a post from my visit to her home last summer here.

Thank you Linda for allowing me to post photos of our work for you.

Office with a Flare

Beta Academy is full of energy and so is every inch of their facilities.  I have had the privilege to decorate principal Latisha Andrews' office, the school's entry and now a lead staff person, Raquel Sartor's office.

Arriving, Raquel had this canvas pic and a freshly painted lime green wall as my inspiration point for her space.  We helped to space plan and make a cohesive plan to pull together a sitting area and conference space and refreshment center.

Along with a teal chair, our first purchase, we got this great rug to define the sitting area.

I found this irresistible pillow to go on the blue chair.  Our second phase, we purchased the teal and lime green chairs and finished up accessories for the gallery wall.

We used some of Raquel's oriental collections she had from her early days of living in Japan.

This canvas print was added to the conference table area.  Love!

Thank You Raquel for allowing me to share your office makeover.

I know she would also love to show off her newest member of the family ....

Home Staging

We moved the tv to avoid a cable wire that was going across this space and made a sitting area with chair and table.

The TV was moved to this space and sofa was moved to space plan room more efficiently.

We added a fresh plant and candle holders to make the fireplace the main emphasis of this room.

Before, entry.

After, Entry.

I completed this home just before I went on a 7 day vacation.  When I returned, I discovered this home was sold for the full asking price!

Clear Lake Living Room Using What You've Got

We totally LOVED this wonderful photo of Karyn's girls, but opted to use a painting that was on a side wall to pull together a great color scheme.  We had the back of the shelving area painted a matching color and changed out the wood shelves for glass to totally accent the collection of antique vases.

The Art and accent paint color.

We added some fresh throw pillows.  NOTE:  the floral in the tall white vase is to be sent to a floral designer to complete the design with the new raspberry flowers.

This is the entry way on opposite side of fireplace wall.  We used the gorgeous in the newly styled dining area in her kitchen and purchased a new mirror for this area.
